Aberdare Country Club

Aberdare Country Club, located just two and a half hours northeast of Nairobi, is perched on the slopes of Mweiga Hill in the Aberdare Highlands, a region within the Great Rift Valley. Originally the residence of an English couple who chose to make Kenya their home, the property—known as “The Steep”—was transformed nearly fifty years later into the Aberdare Country Club, welcoming guests to experience its unique charm.

Now recognized as a heritage property in Kenya, the club maintains the cozy ambiance of a private residence, combined with the understated comfort of a country inn. Despite the rapid pace of the modern world, the house still exudes a sense of stability and warmth, evoking a time when life moved at a slower, more gracious rhythm.
