Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort sprawls across 150 acres of lush grasslands adorned with Acacia trees and bushes, creating a natural haven for resident giraffes, waterbucks, and playful Vervet and Colobus monkeys. At night, the lawns transform into a grazing ground for hippos that venture from the lake to feast on the greenery.
Guided by Sopa’s deep commitment to environmental conservation, every building was thoughtfully positioned to preserve the site’s abundant trees. This approach inspired the creation of an innovative and artistic design for the main public area, which gracefully winds between the trees in elegant, flowing curves.
This careful planning also explains the resort’s layout. Designers strategically spaced the two swimming pools with a children’s section, the pool complex with a bar, snack kitchen, and pizzeria, the tennis court, six conference halls, and the stables to blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings.

The cottages boast exterior walls of rustic stone, lending them a distinctive charm, while vibrant creepers and bougainvillea add splashes of vivid color. This elegant stonework continues into the interiors, including the bathroom’s exterior wall, creating a cohesive design. The wrought iron banisters leading to the upper floors feature cascading creepers and bougainvillea, enhancing their aesthetic appeal.
Craftsmen designed the double-story guest cottages with crescent-shaped roofs that gently sweep away from the main building, drawing the eye toward the serene lakeshore. The upper-floor rooms feature a luxurious king-size bed, while the ground-floor accommodations offer two queen-size beds, each designed with generous proportions and opulent bathrooms for ultimate comfort.
Ground-floor rooms also include a sunken living area that opens onto lush, meticulously maintained lawns, providing a seamless indoor-outdoor experience. Upstairs, private balconies with ornate wrought iron railings and matching furniture provide serene views of the lush, green lawns.
Every room features expansive front-facing windows, flat-screen TVs, stocked mini-bars, telephones, electronic safes, tea and coffee-making stations, and open-air verandas, blending comfort with sophistication.
