Temples at dawn, islands by afternoon

Bangkok’s gilded skyline, the limestone islands of the Andaman coast, and the misty hills of Chiang Mai — one itinerary, three very different Thailands.

Why Thailand

One country, several very different trips

Thailand rarely asks visitors to choose one version of itself. Bangkok moves at the pace of its river traffic and night markets — temples at first light, rooftop bars by evening. A short domestic flight away, the Andaman coast turns still and turquoise, Chiang Mai’s hills stay cool enough for a jacket, and the Gulf islands run on their own unhurried time.

Rather than one fixed itinerary, we work with a handful of curated routes below — each combining two or three regions into a trip that actually fits together, from a short 4-night introduction to a fuller 7-night circuit. All can be adjusted once we’re planning your specific dates.

Good to know

Before you go

The practical details worth sorting out early, specific to travelling from Kenya.

Visa
Kenyan passport holders currently need to apply for a Thai e-Visa before travelling — Kenya is not on Thailand's visa-exemption list. Apply online at the official portal (thaievisa.go.th); your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from your travel date.
Health
A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required on arrival, since you're travelling from a yellow-fever risk country. No other vaccinations are mandatory, though routine travel vaccines are worth checking with your doctor.
Getting there
There are no direct flights from Nairobi. Most routings connect through Doha, Dubai or Addis Ababa, landing in Bangkok in roughly 10–12 hours of total flight time.
Best time to visit
November to February is cool and dry — the most comfortable stretch for both Bangkok sightseeing and Phuket beach days. April is the hottest month; June to October brings the southwest monsoon, with short, heavy afternoon showers.
Currency
Thai Baht (THB). Cards are widely accepted in hotels and malls; carry cash for markets, street food and smaller island vendors.
Language
Thai is the official language. English is common in hotels, restaurants and tourist areas, less so once you're off the main routes.
What to Eat — Section Only
What to eat

Five dishes worth planning meals around

Pad Thai

Stir-fried rice noodles, tamarind, egg and peanuts — best from a street cart, not a hotel buffet.

Tom Yum Goong

Hot and sour prawn soup, lemongrass and chilli-forward. The dish that defines Thai flavour balance.

Som Tam

Green papaya salad, pounded to order — ask for it mild unless you mean it.

Massaman Curry

A milder, slow-cooked curry with roots in Southern Thai and Muslim trading communities.

Mango Sticky Rice

Warm coconut sticky rice, cold ripe mango — the standard closing note to a Thai meal.
